09/17 Recent Price Action

I want to go back to following the 5-Day Price and Volatility study I have for the indexes I'm trading, this helps me to keep things in perspective, my plan is to post these charts daily, let's see if I can keep up with it.

As you can see on the charts bellow, we're edging higher on the 5-Day Volatility spike charts, also, notice there has been very little action to the down-side of the chart, that represents the current up-trend we're observing in the markets.

As far as daily price action, MNX has been a bit calmer than RUT, as you can see there has been a few bigger days on RUT compared to MNX on the last 30-day price spikes.

09/16 Daily Summary

I added the second half to the MNX iron butterfly and the contingent orders triggered on the RUT position, all and all it was a quiet day for me. I'm currently down but it is really early on the trades, so there is a lot of time to adjust things.

I added a long contract to help control the deltas at 610, then at 615 a second hedge was released. The position is flat for now and the up-side risk is acceptable. If we keep going higher I plan on adding a small butterfly to keep theta on the trade.

I'm actually glad I ended up not loading the 2nd half of the position Yesterday. The market pushed higher Today and I added the second half and as it turns out the position is in better shape than the RUT.

09/15 Daily Summary

No major change on my positions Today. I added the second 1/2 on the RUT trade and did not get a fill on the MNX, plan on adding to MNX Tomorrow.

I added the second 1/2 of the position Today. I decided against adding the hedge to the position right away, if we get to 610 Tomorrow then I'll hedge it.
